ICM 48310 Bristol Beaufort Mk.I WWII British Torpedo-Bomber 1:48 Scale Model Kit
The Bristol Beaufort, a twin-engine naval torpedo bomber, was first used by the Coastal Command in late 1939. It had a combat load of up to 908kg and was capable of reconnaissance missions. The initial model, Mk I saw action in April 1940 with 1014 units built. It carried out aerial mining, day and night torpedo attacks, and bombing coastal targets. Among its notable accomplishments was the torpedoing of the German battleship "Gneisenau" in April 1941. The aircrafts were later deployed to the Mediterranean Sea in March 1942, primarily operating from Malta. Despite facing challenges and high casualties, the Bristol Beauforts successfully executed numerous attacks on enemy convoys and warships.
